Sterling ammunition is made in Çankırı, Turkey. We don’t know what the little hook under the “C” means, or how to pronounce “i” when it doesn’t have a dot above it. This ammunition utilizes economical steel in place of costlier brass and copper in two big ways. Its cases are made of steel. They aren’t reloadable, and they are inclined to allow more fouling into the action, but you can’t beat a steel-cased round’s price tag. Its 123 grain full metal jacket bullets have lead cores, but their bimetal jackets are nearly entirely made of steel. Only the thinnest layer of copper wash covers a bimetal jacketed FMJ’s exterior.

This isn’t indeterminably old military surplus from unspecified origins. It’s newly manufactured for the commercial market by a company that exports to dozens of countries across the globe. Noncorrosive, and certain to attract a magnet!
