This round’s soft point bullet is designed to undergo effective terminal expansion at distances of up to 200 yards. If you sight in at that range (and have the same 24” barrel Speer used to record the 150 grain bullet’s 2,820 fps muzzle velocity and resultant 0.414 G1 ballistic coefficient), then you will observe a trajectory which climaxes at 1.9” (with 1.5” sight height) and drops to -7.9” at 300 yards.

The Gold Dot bullet’s jacket, which is created one molecule at a time via Speer’s proprietary Uni-Cor process, does not merely possess the concentricity requisite for fine accuracy. Its bonded jacket also gives the bullet the heightened durability it needs to plow through barriers and soft tissue without shedding a large percentage of its weight. Even two layers of 20 gauge steel can only chip off 6% of the Gold Dot soft point’s weight!
