People often ask us if they can use X, Y or Z 30-06 Springfield ammunition in their M1 Garand rifles. In all honesty, there are some types of modern commercial ammo which aren’t loaded to a high enough pressure to damage an M1 Garand’s operating rod. That said, we only recommend 30-06 ammo for an M1 Garand when it is loaded to M2 ball specifications, because we don’t take any chances when it comes to an irreplaceable part of American history. Each cartridge is loaded with a 150 grain nonmagnetic full metal jacket projectile that achieves a muzzle velocity of 2,745 fps. Each cartridge is also loaded with a noncorrosive Boxer primer and new brass case – the reason for its readability.
