This cartridge was loaded in South Korea with the one and only MatchKing by Sierra. The open tip match is not intended for hunting deer. Its thin jacket doesn’t promote very deep penetration, although it is extremely concentric to ensure great rotational stability. Its nose cavity doesn’t trigger terminal expansion, although it does prove that the OTM’s core was injected into place so it could perfectly mold itself to the jacket. The payoff? A 168 grain bullet that exhibits a lofty 0.462 G1 ballistic coefficient as soon as it tears out of a 24” barrel. With 1.5” high sights, you can zero in at 200 yards and expect -8.5” drop at 300 yards.
