This is Hornady’s Precision Hunter 6.5 CM hunting round, outfitted with nothing less than the 143 grain Extremely Low Drag - eXpanding projectile. From its rotationally stable Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket to its ballistically efficient secant ogive profile to its Heat Shield polymer tip which can’t fall victim to aerodynamic heating, no part of the ELD-X misses a chance to improve overall accuracy.

Once the boat tail bullet accelerates to 2,700 fps out of a 24” barrel, its 0.315 G7 (0.625 G1) ballistic coefficient will ensure that its trajectory to 200 yards rises by no more than 3” above the bore line. The ELD-X also conserves sufficient momentum to carry 1,500 ft lbs of energy to 194 yards, or 1,000 ft lbs to 360 yards.

If you hit your quarry within 400 yards, you can count on the ELD-X’s InterLock ring to secure no less than 50% weight retention. Beyond that, you’re looking at a minimum of 85% weight retention. And no matter the range of impact, the ELD-X’s Heat Shield tip reliably commences broad and rapid terminal expansion.
