This cartridge’s 200 grain projectile is Hornady’s own ELD-X. First it is accurate, with an Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket that optimizes rotational stability, boat tail that minimizes in-flight drag, and sleek polymer tip. That’s Hornady’s Heat Shield tip, which is made of special polymer that can’t melt or otherwise deform while it is exposed to harsh aerodynamic heating. The 0.597 G1/0.301 G7 ballistic coefficient bullet defeats air resistance so handily that it consistently remains supersonic out to 1,500 yards!

Once it’s done being accurate, the ELD-X starts being deadly. Its InterLock ring prevents core/jacket separation effectively enough to ensure at least 50% weight retention within 400 yards, or at least 85% weight retention at 400 yards and beyond. The ELD-X also delivers the decisive terminal expansion which kills deer, elk and moose quickly.
