Does your 45-70 Govt rifle have a tubular magazine? Then you probably abstain from loading spitzer profile bullets in there, because you really wouldn’t like that magazine to explode. But when you hunt with Hornady LEVERevolution ammo, you can safely fire the more accurate and harder-hitting pointed bullets!

This cartridge’s 325 grain projectile is an FTX. Its polymer tip serves a dual purpose: streamlining the bullet so it can follow a flatter, more consistent trajectory, and initiating terminal expansion starting at the moment of impact. The FTX’s polymer tip is special, however. It is Hornady’s own Flex Tip, which is too squishy to ignite the primer it butts up against in a magazine.

The FTX also showcases another Hornady invention: the InterLock ring. It embeds the bullet’s thick jacket into its high-antimony lead core, thus preventing a significant amount of fragmentation during high-velocity collision. The benefit is deeper penetration that has a better chance of accessing the quarry’s heart or lungs.

This ammo’s accurate and lethal bullets are seated in Hornady’s highest-grade brass cases, with clean-igniting primers and propellant that deliver a steady 2,050 fps muzzle velocity (24” test bbl).
