This 223 Rem cartridge’s 55 grain bullet weight and 3,240 fps muzzle velocity out of a 24” test barrel are both characteristic of the military’s M193 specifications. But instead of an FMJ, that bullet is Hornady’s own hollow point match. It’s designed to exhibit greater accuracy thanks to its concentric jacket, form-fitted lead core and fully jacketed base, and its -7” drop at 300 yards (after hitting a 200-yard zero) makes it easy for a novice to line up longer-range shots.

This ammo is loaded with noncorrosive Boxer primers and new reloadable brass cases. You’ll notice that the case’s shoulder is colored a little differently than the rest of the brass – a sign that it has been correctly heat-treated, not reloaded.
