Hornady’s eXtreme Terminal Performance projectile is often favored by competitive shooters solely because it exhibits superior accuracy. But should you decide to chamber the Nebraskan manufacturer’s Custom series 44 Magnum ammo, you’ll be equally prepared for hunting and personal defense!

This round’s 240 grain XTP combines a 1,350 fps muzzle velocity (7.5” vented test barrel), hyper-concentric copper alloy jacket, and uniformly distributed lead core to secure a flat and predictable trajectory. If the XTP collides with soft tissue, its drawn gilding metal jacket secures reliable terminal expansion. Not only does the jacket become progressively thinner toward its rim – it also wears symmetrical notches around that rim to create wider expansion at lower velocities!

The XTP’s rim is fully jacketed. That promotes smoother feeding into lever-action and semi-automatic firearms’ chambers, and also prevents damage to the nose cavity that could otherwise have impacted terminal expansion. Each XTP is outfitted with Hornady’s best brass case (reloadable), Boxer primer (reliable), and carefully weighed propellant charge (clean-burning).
