Hornady is loading this ammo with non-plated brass cases for the time being. They will go back to loading it with nickel-plated brass cases once the supply chain has returned to normal.

Hornady Critical Defense ammunition takes the .380 ACP to a new level of effectiveness with the FTX (Flex Tip) bullet. FTX hollow points feature a soft polymer insert in their expansion cavity to prevent debris from interfering with the petals as they unfold. This results in more reliable terminal ballistics and a better chance of stopping an assailant quickly.

Each round in this box of 25 fires a 90 grain JHP at a muzzle velocity of 1,000 feet per second.

This ammo is loaded in Grand Island, Nebraska using non-corrosive Boxer primers and premium brass cases.
