This cartridge features Hornady’s extraordinary 150 grain soft point bullet: the InterLock. True to its name, the InterLock’s one-piece alloyed lead core is locked to its copper-alloy jacket – not just in one, but two places. The InterLock’s cannelure and raised InterLock ring prevent the two components from prying apart from each other, which allows the bullet to retain momentum as it pierces flesh and sinew.

The InterLock wouldn’t be exceptional if it could only penetrate deeply. That’s why the soft point’s thick jacket progressively narrows the closer it gets to the tip, and also features long inner grooves. These enable the bullet’s soft lead core to evenly fan outward during penetration, thus producing the gaping wound channel that will make any whitetail keel over.
