This cartridge sports a 148 grain projectile. It’s a bit lighter than what we’d prefer for deer hunting, but still heavy enough to promote effectively deep penetration during a defensive scenario. The bullet is sufficiently light to achieve a muzzle velocity of 1,310 fps out of a revolver’s barrel, so you can count on a fairly flat trajectory that carries ample kinetic energy to its target.

The bullet is a conventional jacketed hollow point. Once the inside of the nonmagnetic JHP’s nose cavity is sufficiently pressurized, it has little trouble breaking apart the surrounding jacket’s notched rim. The JHP’s strong jacket reduces fouling of the barrel, and also reduces unwanted fragmentation following high-speed impact.
