This shell is charged up with nine pellets of #1 buck. Now, we know what you’re thinking: Isn’t #1 buck smaller than 00 buck? It is! And that’s exactly why this shell is so practical for defense. Its shot column weighs approximately 0.83 ounces instead of 1.1, which is why it produces significantly less muzzle flip on ignition. And because #1 buck pellets possess less momentum, they’re less likely (albeit still able) to penetrate clean through the threat.

This shell’s lighter column of smaller shot doesn’t make it impotent, though. Each lead bead weighs about the same as a standard 22 LR bullet, and is due to gouge an effectively deep 0.3” diameter hole into its target. With correct shot placement, you’re assured an instant KO.
