This .40 S&W ammunition from Federal's Hydra-Shok series is a strong performer in self-defense emergencies. Designed to meet the demands of law enforcement, Hydra-Shok bullets feature a six-petal hollow point with a post embedded in the center to keep debris such as glass and clothing out of the expansion cavity.

Each round in this case propels a 180 grain jacketed hollow point bullet to a muzzle velocity of 1,000 feet per second. This results in average recoil and ballistics compared to other .40 Smith & Wesson ammo.

Federal Hydra-Shoks are loaded in Anoka, Minnesota using durable nickel-plated brass and non-corrosive primers.
