CCI Velocitor 22 LR Ammunition - 500 Rounds of 40 Grain CPHP

CCI is quite possibly the country’s leading authority on rimfire ammunition. When they set out to design the ultimate ultra-velocity 22 LR hunting cartridge, they succeeded ... and they called their work “Velocitor!”

This round’s 40 grain projectile is nothing out of the ordinary. Granted, CCI does make a high-quality copper-plated hollow point projectile, which leaves behind little fouling before it proceeds to deliver a flat trajectory, deep penetration, and broad terminal expansion.

What really makes the CPHP special is the heat with which it exits the barrel. At 1,435 fps, this round’s muzzle velocity is high enough to give its bullet a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.125 (assuming you’re firing a rifle, that is). That’s awesome for the 22 LR, which means you can expect extraordinarily consistent ballistic performance. If you’re firing a rifle with 1.5” high sights at a 100-yard target, then you can expect the trajectory to peak at 2.25” and then drop to around -3.7” at 125 yards. The CPHP also hits 100 yards with over 100 ft lbs of kinetic energy, which ought to do the trick on any small game animal in the woods.

This ammo’s strong chamber pressure isn’t higher than SAAMI specs allow. It’s definitely juicy enough to cycle a semi-auto, though, and CCI’s quality brass cases only do more to ensure you get the reliable operation you so rightly deserve.
