The secret is biopolymer – a 100% vegetable-based material which BioAmmo developed and patented. Biopolymer boasts strength and density similar to that of plastic, but it is significantly less permanent. If these shells’ tubes and wads are left outdoors or underwater, microorganisms will take approximately two years to odorlessly convert them into nontoxic chemicals such as salt and carbon dioxide. This ammo’s alloy heads will harmlessly rust away, and even its boxes are compostable!

BioAmmo didn’t go through all the trouble of inventing their own proprietary biopolymer just so they could load subpar duck hunting shells. Each round features 1-1/16 ounces of #3 steel shot, which is excellent for taking ducks over decoys. Its non-corrosive primer and clean-burning powder work in tandem to deliver a 1,312 fps muzzle velocity, which gives steel pellets plenty of energy for dropping waterfowl. Its wad is molded with wide side vents, enabling it to erect petals as soon as it exits the muzzle.
