This cartridge’s 250 grain bullet is what Ammo Inc. calls a “total metal case,” but it’s more commonly referred to as a total metal jacket. The TMJ is similar to the more common FMJ, and delivers fundamentally identical in-flight and terminal ballistics. But because the base of the TMJ’s solid lead core is covered by its jacket, no part of it will evaporate while it is blasted by white hot propellant gasses.

The benefits of the TMJ’s inability to produce lead gas are two-fold. You’ll inhale cleaner air – especially while you’re cooped up in an indoor range. You’ll also notice that the TMJ keeps your barrel significantly cleaner!
